NEW-AGE TRAVEL INFLUENCERS
Ronnie & Barty Travel Filmmakers
Content creation is a cut-throat battle in the 21st century. Ronnie (Rohan Thakur) and Barty (Bharati Bahrani), however, are breezing through this race. Although the two filmmakers got a head start eight years ago, it’s their inspiring moviemaking style that continues to grab eyeballs. Straying away from the convention of simply spewing travel facts at their audiences, the husband-wife duo tells stories with captivating cinematography, conversational storytelling, and bewitching visuals to their YouTube subscribers and Instagram followers. Their collective muse? The slow-paced life of the mountains. During the lockdown, the couple decided to archive their life in Manali, Ronnie’s hometown. “We documented everything from experimenting with farming in our orchard to day hikes in the surrounding forests,” they reveal. Ronnie handles every aspect of cinematography, music, and editing, while Barty handles direction, production, and communication. How do they deal with content burnout, a common peril of the profession? “One thing that the two of us have been very particular about is that our ‘jobs’ can never ever take over our lives. We never want to push ourselves to the point where there is no line between public, private, and personal,” the duo explains. A similar motto, the two suggest, should be imbibed by all budding vloggers out there. Filmmaking and marketing skills aside, Ronnie and Barty feel finding one’s true self is the key to standing out from the herd. It’s an art these inspiring icons have mastered.
