DID YOU KNOW?

-

Icelandic horses are believed to be the original Viking horses—one of the purest breeds in the world—and are known for their muscular bodies and ability to grow long hair in winter and short hair in summer. These steeds came to Iceland with the first settlers from Norway 1,100 years ago. They are typically easy-going, friendly, and curious, and there are about 80,000 of them in Iceland. You can meet these horses on one of the many riding tours offered all over Iceland by numerous farms.
