What is the creative process to plan a celebrity wedding?

While we are overwhelmed by the trust that couples place in us, there is also a sense of responsibility and tension that creeps in. But as we progress with planning for the wedding, we get confident. Planning a celebrity wedding requires us to juggle so many more aspects than a non-celebrity couple. We need to keep in mind aspects like confidentiality, how much and what we can reveal to the media and when, as well as so many other stakeholders like designers, PR, decor and more.

What was your most memorable moment from the Richa-Ali wedding you designed?

Memorable moments for us always are when our clients turn around and say ‘thank you’. If you see the recent pictures of the wedding of Bollywood actors Richa Chaddha and Ali Fazal, you will see what we mean. There has been such an outpouring of love and thanks on social media and on leading online Bollywood platforms that extensively featured the work that we did, with a special focus on the decor. That really was a high point for us, especially since we spent over two years planning it and keeping it under wraps till just before the wedding.

What is your take on sustainable weddings?

Sustainability is now a keyword in the curation process as many couples have started thinking in that direction. From using eco-friendly materials in decor, reusing and recycling things, and giving out things to organisations that might use them, we are trying all options. We also use materials that lessen the carbon footprint. For instance, donating leftover food to NGOs. Flowers are collected after events and donated to organisations like Phool, who, in turn, reuse them.

Do you create an inspirational mood board for each of the weddings that you work at?

Yes. For us, every wedding and every couple is unique and curating a TailorMade experience for each individual is what we specialise in. As a process, we get a questionnaire filled out by each couple. Based on inputs received from the couple, we give them ideas to start collating their thoughts on their ideal wedding.
