Book early for best deals: Cathay GM tells Indians

We are happy to announce that from October 2012, we will be introducin­g our ‘Premium Economy’ class services on Indian route starting with New Delhi. Aimed at ‘value seekers’ – leisure and business travellers, it will have more leg room, high seat pitch, wider seats and preferred check-in. It’s difficult to do a straight comparison given the wide range of economy fares that are prevalent on different routes. I’m sure we will receive good response from the Indian market for our ‘Premium Economy’ class and will slowly introduce it on our other Indian routes.

In September, we converted our four times a week service from Chennai to a daily service. Starting November 3, we are launch- with excellent prices. They want on-time flights, great on-board services, excellent F&B options and better deals. However, there is a need to educate the travellers that booking early might help them get the best deals and prices.

Travel agents are the most crucial component of our distributi­on channel. Over 85 per cent of the book-
