‘Lo­ca­tions’ un­der the lens of Bol­ly­wood

‘Lo­ca­tions’ is the world’s first film tourism event. It is an event pro­mot­ing and high­light­ing two dis­tinct in­dus­tries: tourism and film mak­ing. high­lights the events’ sig­nif­i­cance.

The 10th edition of ‘Lo­ca­tions’ con­ducted in Mum­bai was a two-day event that gar­nered a lot of in­ter­est from the film fra­ter­nity, var­i­ous tourism boards and tour op­er­a­tors.

Started in 2003 with a con­cept to bridge the gap be­tween film and tourism in­dus­try and help global lo­cal ven­dors and al­lied ser­vice rep­re­sen­ta­tives to in­ter­act with the In­dian film in­dus­try, it show­cased some unique and un­ex­plored des­ti­na­tions like Oman and the Philippines this year. There was also an ac­tive par­tic­i­pa­tion by line pro­duc­ers, tech­ni­cians, tours and travel op­er­a­tors. With In­dian movies in­creas­ingly be­ing shot at the out­door lo­ca­tions, ‘Lo­ca­tions’ was the per­fect plat­form for coun­tries to pro­mote and high­light their var­i­ous des­ti­na­tions.

“We have di­verse film­ing lo­ca­tions in the 7,107 is­lands. We are wel­com­ing the In­dian film in­dus­try to Philippines,” says Verna Co­var, Di­rec­tor, Dept of Tourism, Philippines.

The event com­prised ex­hi­bi­tion, pre­sen­ta­tion, in­for­mal gath­er­ing and also an awards cer­e­mony. Yash Cho­pra re­ceived the
