main agenda of having a representation in India is to develop the Indian outbound market for Argentina, educate the travel trade about the destination, build destination awareness among the trade and travellers along with developing marketing and promotional activities. From South America, Argentina is the first country to have an official representation in India for tourism and aims to position itself as a mono-destination for the Indian travellers.

When asked if it’s a challenge or an opportunity, Medha Sampat, Founder, Knack Marketing said, “Promoting a new destination is India is always a great opportunity, as it’s exciting to position a new destination, among the trade and travellers. Argentina has an amazing variety of tourism attractions to select from (Argentina is the main tourism receptor in South America, with 5.8 million overseas visitors annually, even surpassing Brail) and we would like Indians to spend maximum time in exploring the country as a mono destination. As a BRIC member, every day, India shows the world the soundness of its economy and this evidently translates into the tourism industry. shows before targetting the end consumer. We are looking at developing the market with a long-term perspective. The trade will be made to experience the destination and FAM trips will be organised.”
