The most important local infrastructure addition is the sprawling, landscaped, Chiang Mai Convention Centre which is due to open in 2013. With a capacity of 10,000 delegates, the centre is the second largest in Thailand, and is expected to become a big name in the international convention business. Chiang Mai can be conveniently combined with Chiang Rai for Indian visitors. The Golden Triangle is also a high-potential region.
