Air In­ter­na­tional which is cur­rently op­er­at­ing char­tered and cargo flights from US, is now eye­ing the In­dian avi­a­tion sec­tor. Af­ter con­tem­plat­ing air­port and pas­sen­ger traf­fic on var­i­ous routes, the air­line is in the process of in­tro­duc­ing a new bud­get air­line from Fu­jairah, UAE to var­i­ous In­dian cities. To start with, the com­pany will start with five flights a week from Fu­jairah to any of the South In­dian des­ti­na­tions, prob­a­bly Kochi and will de­ploy an Air­bus A320 on the route grad­u­ally ex­pand­ing fur­ther. The new bud­get car­rier will be of­fer­ing cheaper air­fares and al­low ad­di­tional bag­gage to pas­sen­gers on In­dia – UAE route.

Cap­tain Ra­jan Nair, CEO, N-Air In­ter­na­tional in­formed that the In­dian op­er­a­tions are ex­pected to be­gin from June or July 2013. The air­craft and crew is stand­ing by, await­ing ap­provals from DGCA.

“Our prime fo­cus is on In­dian mar­ket, pri­mar­ily, on cities like Kochi, Kozhikode, Vishakha­p­at­nam and Madu­rai, with flights to and from Fu­jairah. We plan to mar­ket th­ese flights to the ex­pat pop­u­la­tion from th­ese cities which fly home fre­quently and also carry huge amounts of ex­cess bag­gage,” he said.
