Pro­mot­ing Swiss vis­i­bil­ity

While Switzer­land fo­cuses on Tier-ii and TIER-III cities in In­dia, it has in­vited around 30 tour op­er­a­tors from In­dia to par­tic­i­pate at the Switzer­land Travel Mart-2013 from May 31-June 2.

Switzer­land Travel Mart 2013 (STM2013), that is be­ing held at Bern from May 31- June 2, is one of the most im­por­tant trade shows to in­crease sales of Switzer­land Travel Prod­ucts. Switzer­land Tourism, in close co­op­er­a­tion with Swiss In­ter­na­tional Air Lines, Switzer­land Travel Sys­tem and the host­ing city-Bern, will be wel­com­ing 450 tour op­er­a­tors and travel trade jour­nal­ists from over 40 coun­tries and the 350 Swiss sup­pli­ers to the 17th edi­tion of the STM.

The STM- 2013 pro­vides a pro­fes­sional plat­form for meet­ing the en­tire range of tourism prod­ucts in Switzer­land and the prin­ci­pal­ity of Liecht­en­stein. A tried- and- tested sys­tem of meet­ings last­ing 20 min­utes each, al­lows sup­pli­ers to hold busi­ness talks with as many as 42 dif­fer­ent buy­ers over the two days. Switzer­land Tourism’s aim is to strengthen the pres­ence and in­crease the num­ber of Swiss of­fer­ings in the port­fo­lios of tour op­er­a­tors.

Around 30 tour op­er­a­tors from Delhi, Mum­bai, Kolkata, Ben­galuru and Chen­nai will be par­tic­i­pat­ing at the event. In ad­di­tion to the work­shop, so­cial events have also been or­gan­ised dur­ing STM-2013. The mart will also help fa­mil­iarise In­dian agents with the var­i­ous des­ti­na­tions that Switzer­land has on of­fer. In In­dia, Switzer­land Tourism is get­ting ready to win over first-time In­dian trav­ellers from Tier-II and Tier-III cities with their var­i­ous pack­ages. How­ever, in spite of the fo­cus on smaller towns and cities it is not shift­ing its at­ten­tion from Tier I cities. Switzer­land is also fo­cus­ing on In­dia’s MICE crowd.
