HAI elects a new team for 2-year term

It would be Bick­son’s en­deav­our to lead HAI’s drive in key ar­eas, in close col­lab­o­ra­tion with the govt. which could help de­velop a glob­ally rel­e­vant hos­pi­tal­ity sec­tor that will be at­trac­tive to for­eign and do­mes­tic trav­ellers for the ben­e­fit of econ­omy.

TT BUREAU he 17th An­nual Gen­eral Meet­ing (AGM) of Ho­tel As­so­ci­a­tion of In­dia (HAI) held in New Delhi has elected Ray­mond N Bick­son as the Pres­i­dent for the next twoyear term. Bick­son, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, In­dian Ho­tels Com­pany Lim­ited (IHCL) suc­ceeds Nakul Anand, Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor – Ho­tels Di­vi­sion of ITC Lim­ited, as Pres­i­dent of HAI. The AGM also elected a 15-mem­ber Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee.

Ad­dress­ing the AGM, Bick­son stated that tourism and ho­tel in­dus­try per­forms an im­por­tant role in pro­mot­ing eco­nomic growth in the coun­try. It con­trib­utes 6.4 per cent to In­dia’s GDP and pro­vides em­ploy­ment, di­rect and in­di­rect, to 53 mil­lion peo­ple. It would be his en­deav­our to lead the HAI’s drive in key ar­eas, in close col­lab­o­ra­tion with the gov­ern­ment, which could help de­velop a vi­brant and glob­ally rel­e­vant hos­pi­tal­ity sec­tor that will be at­trac­tive to for­eign and do­mes­tic trav­ellers for the ben­e­fit of the over­all econ­omy.
