Putting a new spin on in­bound tourism

In­dian out­bound has grown sub­stan­tially over the years and many global brands are eye­ing to tap this emerg­ing mar­ket. In a bid to fa­cil­i­tate their en­try in the coun­try, Tourism En­ter­prises pro­vides qual­ity mar­ket­ing and ad­vice to B2B travel part­ners to ef­fi­ciently mar­ket their prod­uct in In­dia.

The com­pany was set up last year by a team of In­dian pro­fes­sion­als hav­ing over 20 years ex­pe­ri­ence in the tourism in­dus­try. It works in var­i­ous fields re­lat­ing to tourism viz. mar­ket­ing, pro­mo­tions, re­search, prod­uct de­vel­op­ment, pub­lic re­la­tions and prod­uct de­vel­op­ment etc.

Talk­ing about the com­pany’s fo­cus, Ravi Gu­sain, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Tourism En­ter­prises said, “We have set up this com­pany to pro­mote DMCs, ho­tels and tourism boards to the B2B mar­ket in In­dia. So far, we are get­ting good re­sponse from the out­bound mar­ket and agents are sup­port­ing the ini­tia­tive.”

The com­pany has al­ready signed up with DMCs in Sri­lanka, Dubai, Brazil, Peru-Ecuador, Panama, Morroco, Malya­sia, Spain and Ro­ma­nia. Its fo­cus is on both met­ro­pol­i­tan as well as Tier-II & Tier-III cities.

“All DMCs we are pro­mot­ing are leading agencies in their re­spec­tive des­ti­na­tions and are trust­wor­thy. At pres- ent, we have been re­ceiv­ing reg­u­lar queries for Sri­lanka, Dubai and Spain. Brazil, South Amer­ica and Ro­ma­nia are some of the up­com­ing des­ti­na­tions. There is a lot of in­ter­est in Ro­ma­nia among MICE oper­a­tors be­cause of its lo­ca­tion in Europe with mod­er­ate prices for ho­tels and tours,” he ex­plained. Tourism En­ter­prises fo­cus on mar­ket­ing and pro­mo­tions where as all op­er­a­tions and pric­ing are done di­rectly with these DMCs. The com­pany is reg­u­larly study­ing and un­der­stand­ing the need of In­dian trav­ellers, which helps in bring­ing new des­ti­na­tions to In­dia.

In­form­ing about com­pany’s fu­ture plans, Gu­sain said, “We have seen growth for all our des­ti­na­tions in 2013 and we are quite hope­ful that this year it will con­tinue to grow at a good pace. We have plans to or­gan­ise work­shop, sem­i­nars and des­ti­na­tion pro­mo­tional ac­tiv­i­ties in 2014 for B2B mar­ket on reg­u­lar ba­sis. This will en­able us to ed­u­cate out­bound oper­a­tors and gen­er­ate more in­ter­est for our des­ti­na­tions.”
