Oman reaches out to travellers through social media
Social media platforms are the easiest and the most direct way to connect with consumer. Oman wants to optimise the digital space and be more prominently present on this platform in 2014. It’s ‘Oman Tourism, India’ Facebook page, through which it regularly engages with its fans and provides information about Oman, which has over 20,500 likes so far. It also has an Instagram handle ‘Oman Tourism India’ and plans to start a Twitter handle soon.
One of its ongoing online media campaigns is to reach out to travel bloggers through a blogging contest since bloggers have high credibility among their followers, making them an influential community. This contest will be open to anyone who blogs and three participants will get a chance to win a trip to Oman.
