Codeshare details with Jet Airways

-

In April 2014, Etihad Airways expanded its destination network in India with the launch of a daily service from Abu Dhabi to Jaipur. This brought the total number of Indian cities served by Etihad to 10 along with Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mumbai, New Delhi and Trivandrum. Etihad also increased the frequency of its services to India by tripling the number of seats on the Abu Dhabi-Mumbai and Abu Dhabi-New Delhi routes to 2,996 and 2,730 seats per week, respectively.

The airline now operates a second daily flight between Abu Dhabi and New York City providing an additional one-stop connection to the US for travellers from India and back. According to their codeshare agreement, Etihad can place its EY code on domestic services in India for the first time. The agreement now includes 31 Jet Airways routes from hubs in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru to regional centres in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Patna, Trivandrum and Vadodara.

This agreement also incorporates Jet Airways’ international connections from Mumbai and Delhi to the Asian tourism and economic hubs of Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok. Etihad Airways now codeshares on services linking Chennai to Abu Dhabi and Singapore. On the other hand, Jet Airways has strengthened its offering to the US and Europe by codesharing on Etihad Airways routes between Abu Dhabi and Chicago, New York, Dublin and Milan.
