SriLankan Air­lines joins Oneworld

SriLankan Air­lines has be­come the first air­line from the In­dian Sub­con­ti­nent to join Oneworld, a global air­line al­liance. This al­liance en­ti­tles SriLankan Air­lines to pro­vide its clien­tele with the full range of ser­vices and ben­e­fits.

Along with what is be­lieved to be a lead­ing range of al­liance fares, they have also added a new ‘Visit South Asian Sub-Con­ti­nent Pass’ to their ser­vices. The air­line is also be­lieved to code-share with two more Oneworld part­ners, namely: Fin­nair and S7 Air­lines.

Com­ment­ing on the al­liance, Oneworld Gov­ern­ing Board CEO, Bruce Ashby, said, “The ad­di­tion of SriLankan Air­lines con­cludes what has been the big­gest and fastest growth pro­gramme by any global air­line al­liance, en­abling Oneworld to con­sol­i­date its po­si­tion as the first choice global al­liance for fre­quent in­ter­na­tional trav­ellers.
