KTM is in talks with their representatives in our country. However, this programme will be organised at popular tourist destinations such as Fort Kochi, Wayanad, Thekkady, Kovalam, etc,” he said. He added, “We are planning to host this programme at 10 destinations in Kerala as a pilot project and later we will extend it to other destinations in the state. We will educate school students about cleanliness as we believe that through them, we can create a better tomorrow.”
The state is all ready to tap the MICE segment in a big way. According to George, the total worth of MICE business in India is ` 40,000 crore. “MICE programmes are mainly being held in cities such as Pune, Delhi and Bengaluru. We are looking at establishing a consortium of industry stakeholders in Kerala on the lines of India Convention Promotion Bureau ( ICPB) to bid for MICE programmes for the state,” he informed.
