Providing an impeccable and effective platform for B2B in a focussed fashion, VKonect Luxury will showcase luxury products, properties, destinations, services and experiences catering to affluent outbound travellers from India. Talking about how the event will present focussed business opportunities, Punam Singh, Promoter and Director, VKonect says, “The event format has been received very positively. The buyers and sellers are looking at it with a perspective of a closed door format event. This is also India’s first luxury show in the B2B space. An exhibitor table is priced at USD 5500 plus service tax. We also had an early bird offer of USD 1000. It’s an end-to-end cost, which includes the accommodation, networking, gala dinners, about USD 2000 dollars worth of advertising, etc.”

Throwing light on how the buyers will be chosen for the event, Singh elaborates, “VKonect will look at buyers who are pertinent for the kind of events we are doing. We will do three events in luxury, MICE and leisure space. Thus, we will look only at these three segment of buyers. There is a pan- India selection for this. For exampleVconnect Luxury will only look at selling luxury experiences and itineraries.”

One of the key points of the event (luxury, MICE and leisure) is that every event will be organised in a different city in the country. The objective is that exhibitors must experience various cities and regions. The quality and content of the hosted buyers will also be different, she adds. The first event, VKonect Luxury is being held in New Delhi at The Oberoi from Oct 4-6.

According to Singh, the high-end outbound market in India is extremely niche. “We do not just buy luxury. In India, we have only touched the tip of the iceberg and there is great potential. This segment is fuelling growth at the luxury end of the market and this is what we plan to tap.”

Regarding the opportunities at the event, Guldeep Singh Sahni, President, OTOAI affirms, “The event is a forum to extend the cause of outbound travel in India. As a partner association for the event, we will look at getting maximum mileage for the OTOAI members.”
