TAAI forms 8 com­mit­tees

The new team of Travel Agents As­so­ci­a­tion of In­dia took im­por­tant de­ci­sions at its first Man­ag­ing Com­mit­tee meet­ing, in­clud­ing forming spe­cial com­mit­tees that fo­cus on spe­cific ar­eas.

Un­der the chair­man­ship of the newly-elected TAAI Pres­i­dent Su­nil Ku­mar, some im­por­tant de­ci­sions were taken dur­ing the first Man­ag­ing Com­mit­tee meet­ing held from Oc­to­ber 7-8, 2015 in Hyderabad.

One of them in­cluded forming com­mit­tees with spe­cial port­fo­lios. All port­fo­lios as­signed are for one year, af­ter which it will be re­viewed to­wards the end of the first year of the cur­rent term. Im­por­tant com­mit­tees will have more than one co-chair­per­son.

Re­gion-Chap­ter chair­per­sons and mem­bers with ex­pe­ri­ence who can sup­port TAAI in its pur­suit to re­solve chal­lenges will be added to com­mit­tees. Th­ese com­mit­tees will be fur­ther de­vel­oped in the fu­ture MC meet­ings.

Other key con­clu­sions from the meet­ing in­clude forming an ar­bi­tra­tion fo­rum to re­solve dis­putes be­tween mem­bers and TAAI to avoid the pos­si­bil­ity of a lit­i­ga­tion and manda­tory Re­gion/Chap­ter meet­ings with mem­bers held at least once in 60 days.

It was also de­cided that the TAAI Man­ag­ing Com­mit­tee meet­ings will be­come a two- day pro­gram and will be held in var­i­ous parts of In­dia to of­fer an op­por­tu­nity for in­ter­ac­tion with the lo­cal mem­ber­ship of Re­gions/Chap­ters.

The sec­ond TAAI meet­ing has been pro­posed for Novem­ber/ De­cem­ber 2015 and will be held along with the Of­fice Bear­ers of all Re­gions/ Chap­ters and the Chair­per­sons of var­i­ous com­mit­tees will make pre­sen­ta­tions on what their com­mit­tees aim for.
