Ex­pand­ing into Tier-II & III

Wing­span Hol­i­days plans to in­crease its part­ner­ship with agents in Tier-II and Tier-III cities across In­dia through per­sonal vis­its, ad­ver­tise­ments and so­cial me­dia.

With Cen­tral Europe gain­ing pop­u­lar­ity in the In­dia mar­ket, Tourism En­ter­prises is also of­fer­ing trips in Prague, Vi­enna, Salzburg, Bu­dapest and Mu­nich through a DMC brand in Czech Re­pub­lic. Ravi Gosain, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Tourism En­ter­prises, says, "2015 proved to be a suc­cess­ful year in terms of in­creased trav­ellers as well as ad­di­tion of new DMCs to our port­fo­lio. In 2015 we sent over 6,000 tourists through our In­dian out­bound tour oper­a­tors to sev­eral coun­tries, the most pop­u­lar be­ing Dubai, Sri Lanka and Greece."

"We have many en­quiries in pipe­line, so we hope com­ing sum­mer will pro­duce good num­bers to this desti­na­tion. Through our part­ner Travel Ways in Greece, we op­er­ated over 800 pas­sen­gers in six months and are hope­ful to do bet­ter in 2016," says Ku­mar Utkarsh, In­dia Sales Head, Tourism En­ter­prises.

Talk­ing about the as­sis­tance of­fered to In­dian tour oper­a­tors, Gosain says, "We reach our trade part­ners through per­sonal vis­its, mail­ers, trade fairs and ar­range lo­cal city based sem­i­nars. We en­sure the qual­ity, sta­bil­ity and re­li­a­bil­ity of the DMC which we pro­mote in the In­dian mar­ket."

Elab­o­rat­ing of the plans for 2016, Utkarsh adds, "We are work­ing and plan­ning in­vest­ment in in­ter­na­tional DMCs to set up our own DMC to give trust and value to our B2B net­work in In­dia. We al­ready have a part­ner­ship in Har­yard Tours-Dubai and Tourism En­ter­pris­esSri Lanka."

Gosain points out a trend of in­creased fam­ily travel and in­cen­tive groups. Gosain says, "We are fo­cussing on the fam­ily seg­ment of travel as this seg­ment is in­clined to­wards per­son­alised trips and spends more in com­par­i­son to fixed de­par­ture tours."

In 2016, Wing­span Hol­i­days in­tends to strengthen its sales sup­port team as well as launch their new web­site with more than 200 sug­gested pro­grams with ref­er­ence im­ages and de­tailed must do ex­cur­sions. Tas­neem Udaipur­wala, Di­rec­tor, Wing­span Hol­i­days, says, "We plan to in­crease our reach to the Tier-II and Tier-III city agents across In­dia through per­sonal vis­its, in­creased ad­ver­tise­ments and so­cial me­dia."

Talk­ing about the tar­get seg­ment of the com­pany, Udaipur­wala adds, "We have the ex­per­tise to cater to all kinds of di­verse travel re­quire­ments in­clud­ing MICE, lux­ury and ul­tra lux­ury trav­el­ers as well as small pri­vate friends and fam­ily groups."
