OTOAI taps Ahmed­abad agents

The Out­bound Tour Op­er­a­tors’ As­so­ci­a­tion of India (OTOAI) held its meet­ing in Ahmed­abad for the first time on Dec 21, 2016, to en­hance its mem­ber­ship base and ap­prise mem­bers about Tur­key EduCon sched­uled for next year.

The maiden meet in Ahmed­abad was held at the Hy­att Re­gency and saw a to­tal of 90 guests in­clud­ing spon­sors, and of­fice bear­ers of OTOAI, in­formed Ma­hen­dra Vakharia, Chair­man, Western Chap­ter, OTOAI. “The agenda for the meet was to in­tro­duce OTOAI to the in­dus­try in the city, use it as a net­work­ing event for mem­bers of OTOAI and non-mem­bers with the in­ten­tion to in­crease the mem­ber­ship base in the state,” he re­vealed.

The of­fice bear­ers of OTOAI present at the event in­cluded Guldeep Singh Sahni, Pres­i­dent; Riaz Mun­shi, Vice Pres­i­dent; Hi­man­shu Patil, EC Mem­ber; Su­jit Nair, EC Mem­ber; Ankush Ni­jhawan, EC Mem­ber and Vi­neet Gopal, Chap­ter Head, North­ern Re­gion. Vakharia added, “Along with net­work­ing, we had also in­cluded in­ter­est­ing mix of des­ti­na­tion and prod­uct pre­sen­ta­tions as well as pre­sen­ta­tion by a pro­fes­sional GST ex­pert on the im­pli­ca­tions of GST on our in­dus­try.”

Sahni also ad­dressed the gath­er­ing high­light­ing why one should be­come a mem­ber of OTOAI and spoke about the fu­ture and po­ten­tial of the out­bound tourism in­dus­try as well as the Tur­key EduCon which sched­uled from March 12-15, 2017, and will also have pre and post tours for mem­bers.

There were also pre­sen­ta­tions by Sau­gat Nandy, Di­rec­tor Western India, Mar­riott In­ter­na­tional, Ankush Ni­jhawan on Ni­jhawan Group; Twin­kle Shah of Ark Trav­els on Nor­we­gian Cruise Lines; Neha Johri, Coun­try Man­ager India for Re­union Is­land Tourism Board, and Anil Bhar­ga­van from Tally So­lu­tions on GST.
