Fiji Air­ways big on In­dia mar­ket

With a 19 per cent in­crease in air traf­fic from In­dia in 2015-16, Fiji Air­ways is plan­ning to ap­point a full-time ded­i­cated Coun­try Sales Man­ager.


With the re­cent code­share with Jet Air­ways run­ning suc­cess­fully, Fiji Air­ways is look­ing to ex­pand its net­work in In­dia. The air­line has an­nounced that it will be ap­point­ing a Coun­try Sales Man­ager for the In­dia mar­ket. It is also look­ing to ex­pand its GSA net­work pres­ence in In­dia. Speak­ing on its plans to ex­tend the code­share to more cities, Marc S. Cava­liere, Chief Mar­ket­ing Of­fi­cer, Fiji Air­ways, com­mented, “Currently, we look to of­fer the best con­nec­tiv­ity from Sin­ga­pore or Hong Kong and that is where our lim­i­ta­tions are right now. We cer­tainly look at fur­ther work­ing with Jet Air­ways as far as mak­ing con­nec­tions over any of th­ese cities to con­nect to Sin­ga­pore or Hong Kong. How­ever, the lim­i­ta­tions are set by ex­actly where the flights con­nect at.” Fiji Air­ways recorded a 19 per cent growth in air traf­fic from 2015-16 and looks to main­tain the same growth tra­jec­tory with an­other 20 per cent growth this year. Speak­ing on the new ap­point­ment, he added, “As a sign of our com­mit­ment to the In­dia mar­ket, we will soon be an­nounc­ing a full-time Coun­try Sales Man­ager based in Mumbai. He will not only be work­ing with the travel trade, tour op­er­a­tors and on­line travel agents but also as tri part­ner with Tourism Fiji. We will be do­ing more of mar­ket­ing cam­paigns jointly with Tourism Fiji.”
