Kolkata has bee been one of the most rapidly gro growing source markets driving tourist ist tra traffic to South Afric Africa, informs Hanneli Han Slabber, Ind India Country try Manager, So South African Tou Tourism. Indian leis leisure visitors to South S Africa sur surged 21.7 per cen cent during 2016 with 95,377 Indian visitors. Slabber points out that since Indians are last minute bookers, they tend to face a lack of availabili­ty and seasonally high rates for f hotel rooms in top tourist areas. To counter this, SA has made efforts to drive awareness awa around its picturesqu­e smaller towns that are relatively unexplored and continue to have hotel rooms during the peak season. “We've made great strides in positionin­g sitioning ourselves as a world-class adventure and honeymoon destinatio­n,” she adds.
