RDTM to woo do­mes­tic buy­ers

Set to be held from July 20-22, 2018 in Jaipur, Ra­jasthan Do­mes­tic Tourism Mart (RDTM) is be­ing or­gan­ised by the Ra­jasthan Tourism and FHTR.

Singh, Pres­i­dent, Fed­er­a­tion of Hos­pi­tal­ity and Tourism of Ra­jasthan (FHTR), said that the aim be­hind the event was to bring do­mes­tic tourism to the fore for the state. “While do­mes­tic tourism needs to be given a thrust, there is a need to reach and con­nect to prospec­tive trav­ellers through tour op­er­a­tors and travel agents for the same. At present, the do­mes­tic tourist ar­rivals in Ra­jasthan is 4.6 crores with an ob­jec­tive to reach more than 5 crores,” he in­formed.

Gyan Prakash, Sec­re­tary Gen­eral, FHTR, ex­plained that the as­so­ci­a­tion is ded­i­cated to­wards boost­ing tourism in the state. “FHTR is a con­sor­tium of the stake­hold­ers of tourism, hos­pi­tal­ity and as­so­ciate with the gov­ern­ment for RDTM, FHTR’s sole ob­jec­tive was to pro­mote tourism and in­crease tourist ar­rivals in Ra­jasthan. We are do­ing the event on a public-part­ner­ship model, thereby con­tribut­ing to the job cre­ation and GDP of the state,” he added. Singh in­formed that they are ex­pect­ing ap­prox­i­mately 200 sell­ers from across Ra­jasthan and around 200 hosted buy­ers from 29 states and seven Union Ter­ri­to­ries. Post Fam tours will also be or­gan­ised for the del­e­gates. For grow­ing this event fur­ther, Prakash shared, “The strat­egy has been worked out to reach the max­i­mum num­ber of tour op­er­a­tors from across the coun­try. The sell­ers in­clude ho­tels, both her­itage and leisure, who will be con­nect­ing with ma­jor events and wed­ding plan­ners to show­case their prop­er­ties. Apart from that there will be new des­ti­na­tions and prop­er­ties in the state. RDTM would pro­vide a mix of all seg­ments of tourism for max­i­mum ex­po­sure.” Ac­cord­ing to Singh, RDTM would cater to every­thing rang­ing from her­itage, ad­ven­ture, wildlife, med­i­cal tourism, leisure, MiCE, pil­grim­age, sa­faris and camps, events, - tion, etc. “The event presents a unique op­por­tu­nity for travel and tour op­er­a­tors as well as event com­pa­nies in­ter­ested in the rapidly grow­ing Ra­jasthan tourism mar­ket to ex­pand their busi­ness port­fo­lio. The ini­tia­tive is sup­ported by all the in­dus­try as­so­ci­a­tions of Ra­jasthan, be­sides the na­tional as­so­ci­a­tions,” re­vealed Singh.
