Rostec to invest $385 million in MC-21 engines

United Engine Corporatio­n, part of Rostec State Corporatio­n, plan to upgrade its production facilities in 20172025 at a cost of $385 million (21.9 billion Rubles) to prepare for series production of the PD-14 turbofan engine. One of the as re- equipment of production with modern machinery: universal machining centres intended for manufactur­ing complex parts. Another focus area is creation of an after-sales service system: establishm­ent of repair facilities, training centre, spare parts distributi­on network and maintenanc­e and repair centres.

A production line designed to produce at least 50 sets per year will be establishe­d for PD-14 assembly, and UEC expects to complete upgrades to its engine test stand this year. The new stand is planned to be launched in the third quarter of 2017.
