INAS 310 re­lo­cated at Por­ban­dar

In­dian Naval Air Squadron (INAS) 310 ‘Co­bras’ has re­lo­cated to a new air base. The squadron, equipped with HAL-built Dornier 228 mar­itime re­con­nais­sance air­craft, flew out of its pre­vi­ous base, In­dian Naval Sta­tion Hansa, Goa-Dabolim, en masse on 29 Septem­ber to its new home at INS Sar­dar Pa­tel, Por­ban­dar on the north­ern Gu­jarat coast. The squadron was first of the In­dian Navy to op­er­ate the Dornier 228, since Au­gust 1991, and af­ter some years was des­ig­nated as an ‘In­for­ma­tion War­fare Squadron’, with some of the air­craft equipped with elec­tronic sur­veil­lance mea­sures (ESM) and other ad­vanced sys­tems.
