Five B-787s for Azer­bai­jan

Azer­bai­jan Air­lines has signed for an­other five Boe­ing 787-8s. De­scrib­ing the Dream­liner as “a spec­tac­u­lar air­craft.” Azer­bai­jan Air­lines’ pres­i­dent Ja­hangir Askarov said the or­der was the lat­est chap­ter in a long re­la­tion­ship with Boe­ing that had be­gun in the 1990s with Boe­ing 757s. Askarov added that he planned to buy two wide-bod­ies freighters from the US com­pany, ei­ther the 777F or the 747-8F. One of Azer­bai­jan Air­lines’ group sub­sidiaries is cargo spe­cial­ist Silk Way Air­lines, which al­ready flies five 747-8Fs.
