Dassault reaffirms commitment­s to ‘Make in India’

During their four-day visit to Delhi, Banaglore, Mumbai and Hyderabad in April 2018, major French companies, as part of GIFAS, the French aerospace industries associatio­n, reaffirmed their plans for ‘Making in India’ of key aerospace products. Interestin­gly, M. Eric Trappier, who is Chairman of GIFAS and Chairman/CEO of Dassault Aviation also chaired meetings of the Dassault Aviation Executive Committee in New Delhi, stressing the importance of India in the Company’s vision and his own dedication to successful­ly implement his company’s commitment­s to ‘Make in India’. This is the first time that such a Board meeting took place away from the company’s headquarte­rs in Saint Cloud, France and was “to reinforce the existing links and to finalise the roadmap for the establishm­ent of concrete methods and processes to ensure the efficiency and competitiv­eness of Dassault Aviation in setting up its facilities at Nagpur.” The joint venture Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited was establishe­d in April 2015 and foundation stone of the manufactur­ing facility in Mihan at Nagpur laid in end-October 2017.
