Dassault reaffirms commitments to ‘Make in India’
During their four-day visit to Delhi, Banaglore, Mumbai and Hyderabad in April 2018, major French companies, as part of GIFAS, the French aerospace industries association, reaffirmed their plans for ‘Making in India’ of key aerospace products. Interestingly, M. Eric Trappier, who is Chairman of GIFAS and Chairman/CEO of Dassault Aviation also chaired meetings of the Dassault Aviation Executive Committee in New Delhi, stressing the importance of India in the Company’s vision and his own dedication to successfully implement his company’s commitments to ‘Make in India’. This is the first time that such a Board meeting took place away from the company’s headquarters in Saint Cloud, France and was “to reinforce the existing links and to finalise the roadmap for the establishment of concrete methods and processes to ensure the efficiency and competitiveness of Dassault Aviation in setting up its facilities at Nagpur.” The joint venture Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited was established in April 2015 and foundation stone of the manufacturing facility in Mihan at Nagpur laid in end-October 2017.
