Rafael Spike ATGMs for In­dian Army

The Min­istry of De­fence has re­port­edly been de­lib­er­at­ing on the pro­cure­ment of Is­raeli-ori­gin Spike anti-tank guided mis­siles, made by Rafael. Ac­cord­ing to MoD sources, the Min­is­ter of De­fence was to chair a meet­ing of the De­fence Pro­cure­ment Com­mit­tee in late April 2018, for clear­ing the Army’s pro­posal for 5000 Spikes to meet the ur­gent re­quire­ment of in­fantry bat­tal­ions as also 500 launch­ers and 20 sim­u­la­tors. At the same time, some num­bers of in­dige­nous Nag anti-tank mis­siles and Nag mis­sile car­rier ( Nam­ica) would be ini­tially or­dered to sup­ple­ment the cur­rent, ear­lier gen­er­a­tion Konkurs and Mi­lan 2T ATGMs.
