Rosoborone­xport : record levels in 2018

On 4 November 2018, Rosoborone­xport, part of the Rostec State Corporatio­n, celebrated its 18th anniversar­y. The Company was establishe­d in 2000 by decree of President of the Russian Federation. “Over the past 18 years, Rosoborone­xport has become a world leader in the supply of weapons and military equipment and has reached record levels. Today, Russia ranks second in the world in scope of militaryte­chnical cooperatio­n. The Company’s order book is well above $50 billion, while the total value of deliveries has exceeded $150 billion over the years. We continuous­ly improve and offer customers more new models of military equipment, often the best in the world in performanc­e and competitiv­e in terms of price and quality. More than 200 Rosoborone­xport employees have been awarded state and department­al awards for their great contributi­on to the developmen­t of military- technical cooperatio­n with foreign countries,” stated Rostec’s Director General Sergey Chemezov.

In 2018, the Company was actively engaged in efforts to promote new products. Rosoborone­xport took part in

22 internatio­nal exhibition­s and forums. s. The Eurasian Air Show in Antalya, Turkey, y, the Internatio­nal Far Eastern Maritime me Show in Vladivosto­k and ADAS 2018 in the Philippine­s were debut exhibition­s for or the Company. “Despite unpreceden­ted ed competitio­n, Rosoborone­xport continues es to strengthen its position in the global al market. Just recently, we signed the biggesttev­er contract in the company’s history ry to supply India with the S-400 Triumph ph anti-aircraft missile systems. In 2018, we delivered weapons and military equipment to more than 40 countries. At the same time, over 1,100 contract documents worth about $19 billion were signed. These statistics suggest that the quality of Russian weapons and their proven performanc­e are a determinin­g factor for our partners,” stated Rosoborone­xport’s Director General Alexander Mikheev.

Rosoborone­xport continues to expand its range of military products over the years and is actively promoting a number of new military hardware in the world arms market, including the Buk-M3 Viking and Tor-E2 SAM systems, the Sprut-SDM1 light amphibious tank, the ships Karakurt and Sarsar, Il-78MK-90A aerial tanker and the Il-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft.

“Rosoborone­xport is the only stateowned arms trade company in the Russian Federation authorised to export the full range of military and dual-purpose products, technologi­es and services.” A subsidiary of the Rostec Corporatio­n, it was founded on 4 November 2000 and now Rosoborone­xport has become one of the leading world arms exporters in the internatio­nal market. Its share in Russia’s military exports exceeds 85 percent. Rosoborone­xport cooperates with more than 700 enterprise­s and organisati­ons throughout the Russian defence industrial complex.
