INS Karanj commissioned

The Indian Navy’s third stealth Scorpene-class Submarine INS Karanj was commissioned on 10 March 2021, at the Naval Dockyard Mumbai during a formal commissioning ceremony. Admiral VS Shekhawat former CNS who was part of the commissioning crew of the original Karanj and later commanded it during the 1971 Indo–Pak war, was Chief Guest at the ceremony. Six Scorpene-class submarines are being built in India by the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai under collaboration with Naval Group, France.
