‘We are helping VAS providers to reduce their RoI timeframe by less than half’

Voice&Data - - NEWS&VIEWS - country head, Donjin India Akanksha Singh

What is the current market share of your company? How has your company performed with respect to your competitors in FY11?

It is very difficult to point out the exact market share. We have come a long way from the year 2006 when we entered the Indian market, but now we can proudly say that we are in the top 3 platform vendors in India, both in VAS and enterprise segment of the CTI industry.

How is Donjin’s solution helping VAS players to improve their ROI?

Today in VAS every application is implemented on a revenue share model and VAS service providers are really finding it difficult to match the expectations of the operators on the call charges front. This is where Donjin has helped the VAS service providers and system integrators to reduce their ROI timeframe by less than half. The density offered by our platform is much higher than any of the present available solutions in the market. This is backed by the quality of the products as well as the competitiveness in pricing of our offering which has really helped customers to have faster Rois specifically in VAS segment.

What is the focus of the company for the present fiscal? What are the company’s future endeavors?

Our focus is to ensure that we offer the best technology products to the Indian market specifically in the 3G (video products) and IP. We are also expanding our India operations and our plans are to make India the regional R&D and development hub for the South Asian region by 2014.

Brief us about the MVAS platform introduced by your company this year.

MVAS platform is a complete platform which supports all the signaling protocols starting from ISUP right upto MAP and INAP. It also has support for high speed (2 Mbps) signaling link as well as Sigtran. This platform will enable operators to deploy solutions like USSD, CRBT on the IN platform. The MVAS platform can act as a common platform over which a variety of applications can be built.

Which are the other products in the pipeline which the company plans to introduce this fiscal?

One of the other products which is being launched this fiscal is the high density IP board on the Keygoe platform. From the beginning all Keygoe Series products support all types of available telecom protocols like ISDN PRI, SS7, IP (RTP, H.323 etc). So, a Keygoe series product is almost future proof which will never go obsolete. The earlier boards of Donjin supported only 120 channels of IP, but the new board will support 480 channels of IP along with support for all compression codecs like G.711, G.729 with echo cancellation. This board will also support video and hence it becomes a common platform for use to position in the 3G space.
