Nokia Launches ‘Asha’ Phones

Nokia has un­veiled a new range of Sym­bian based low-end hand­sets, called Asha, tar­geted at the emerg­ing mar­kets like In­dia and Africa. The range will ini­tially be of 4 de­vices. Two of the hand­sets, Asha 300 and 303, will be re­leased be­fore the end of the year with price tags of around £85 and £115, re­spec­tively, ac­cord­ing to the com­pany. The Asha 200 and 201 will launch at the be­gin­ning of 2012 and will be priced at around £60 each. Both the de­vices will have a QWERTY key­board and will of­fer al­most iden­ti­cal hard­ware. The com­pany has claimed a 52-hour mu­sic play­back bat­tery life.
