Trai Strict on Un­so­licited Calls and SMSes

Trai has said that it is mon­i­tor­ing and en­forc­ing the reg­u­la­tions for pro­tec­tion of con­sumers from un­so­licited calls and SMSES. The reg­u­la­tor has dis­con­nected 111 sub­scribers and has even is­sued no­tices to 1,122 sub­scribers in this con­cern. Ac­cord­ing to the reg­u­la­tions is­sued by the au­thor­ity, if any un­so­licited com­mer­cial calls and SMSES are sent from in­di­vid­ual numbers, no­tice will be served to the cus­tomer and his num­ber will be dis­con­nected on sec­ond vi­o­la­tion. “Reg­is­tered sub­scribers re­ceiv­ing UCC may lodge their com­plaint by di­al­ing or send­ing SMS to 1909,” says Trai.
