BSNL Taps on VAS to Make up on Lost Revenue
BSNL has taken several steps, including a greater focus on the VAS front, to improve its economic condition after a massive revenue loss of 6,384 crore, which the PSU posted in the FY11. According to Milind Deora, minister of state for communications and IT, the company will lay stress on data usage and VAS in order to earn profit. The PSU has even decided to enhance capital and operating expenditure via convergence and consolidation of its infrastructure, and will be focusing on broadband and enterprise business with major focus on the government projects with an eye on the top 100 cities for revenue. The company will also focus on customer care, service delivery, service assurance, revenue management, and asset management.
