“Tulip will be rolling out an array of new services/products in 2012”
Furthermore, Tulip will continue to build out its network to provide data connectivity across the country and internationally. This will be augmented by services like security and surveillance solutions, videoconferencing on-demand, UC as a service, DR as a service, hosted contact centers and more.
Brief us on the recent video surveillance tie-up with Mindtree and Iomega. How do you plan to leverage this partnership for your customers?
This partnership looks to provide India’s first video surveillance services based on cloud technology. The cloud solution involves Iomega Storcenter network storage devices, Tulip’s national broadband network with cloud data centers, and Mindtree’s video management software. Moreover, the association with Iomega and Tulip will enable ‘Iomega Storcenter plus’ to reach India’s top 2,400 businesses, currently served by Tulip over its Nationwide Broadband Network.
Which have been the major developments Tulip catered to in FY12?
So far the year has been great for Tulip. During the September quarter, the company continued to post over 20% y-o-y topline growth for the fourth consecutive quarter. Tulip’s operating profit margin has remained in the range of 27-29% during this period. We are now building services around our two core businesses to ensure a sustained and profitable growth. These services include a number of different managed services like managed videoconferencing. A business that was started a year ago has got Tulip an estimated 5% market share in the domestic end-point VC market. We are in the process of launching more such services in the market while continuously adding to our existing product portfolio.
