GSMA Opens Office in India

GSMA has announced that it has opened a permanent office in New Delhi and has appointed Sandeep Karanwal as its head. The GSMA also announced that India will become the second largest mobile broadband market globally in the next 4 years with 367 mn mobile broadband connection­s by 2016. GSMA expressed excitement on participat­ing and accelerati­ng new mobile services in India related to agricultur­e and education. There is an immense scope in the Indian market for many mobile services related to agricultur­al projects, cultural projects, mobile payments, and nutrition which will help in growth of these platforms.
