IBM Unveils Enterprise Computing Model

IBM introduced expert integrated systems family—puresystem­s—to enable enterprise­s to change the economics of IT. With the introducti­on of the new Puresystem­s, IBM is unveiling 3 major advances that point to a new era of computing technology that would allow businesses to slash the high costs and nagging complexity associated with managing IT. As per a release, IBM’S Puresystem­s is the result of $2 bn investment in R&D and acquisitio­ns over four years, an unpreceden­ted move by IBM to integrate all IT elements, both physical and virtual. The new systems family offers clients an alternativ­e to enterprise computing model, where multiple and disparate systems require significan­t resources to set up and maintain. Puresystem­s supports power processors and Intel processors and are priced starting at $100,000.
