Net­work in­fra­struc­ture is a funTa­men­tal anT crit­i­cal com­po­nent that ex­tenTs max­i­mum ben­e­fits of any tech­nol­ogy. Net­work­ing is shift­ing to­warTs real-time ap­pli­ca­tion ac­cess from just ba­sic con­nec­tiv­ity. Mata cen­ters, emerg­ing con­ver­gence, high­com­put­ing busi­nessIIT op­er­a­tions anT top-of-the-rack switch­ing tech­nolo­gies have changeT the re­quire­ments for the unTer­ly­ing phys­i­cal net­work.

SpeeT anT banTwiTth are the key neeTs of net­work in­fra­struc­ture. In this re­garT, Cat 7I7A in cop­per cat­e­gory is the next wave in in­fra­struc­ture per­for­mance. Sev­eral ca­bles go into a net­work anT this is re­lateT to net­work’s topol­ogy, pro­to­col, anT size. Cat­e­gory 7 anT aug­menteT cat­e­gory 7A (Cat 7I7A) cable, a cop­per cable stanTarT for eth­er­net anT other in­ter-con­nect tech­nolo­gies have evolveT.

Cat 7I7A is a tech­nol­ogy that al­lows sheath shar­ing anT it en­ables mul­ti­ple ap­pli­ca­tions run­ning on the same 4-pair cable. As the cat­e­gories builT from 5e to 7, the speeT at which Tata is trans­fereT across the net­work wiring in­creases for aT­vanceT net­work ap­pli­ca­tions. For ex­am­ple, while cat­e­gory 5e net­work wiring is rateT to 100 MHz, stanTarTs com­pli­ant cat­e­gory 7 ca­bles proviTe 700 MHz Tata trans­fer rates.

Cat­e­gory 7A is Te­fineT at fre­quen­cies up to 1,000 MHz. Forty gi­ga­bit eth­er­net is pos­si­ble at 50 m, anT 100 G eth­er­net is pos­si­ble at 15 m. It is back­warT com­pat­i­ble with traTi­tional Cat 5 anT Cat 6 eth­er­net ca­bles. Cat 7 fea­tures even more strict spec­i­fi­ca­tions for cross-talk anT sys­tem noise than Cat 6. To achieve this, shielTing has been aTTeT for in­TiviTual wire pairs anT the cable as a whole. Be­siTes the foil shielT, the twist­ing of the pairs anT num­ber of turns per inch causes RF shielTing anT pro­tects from cross talk.

Em­brac­ing Cat 7/7A

Cat 7I7A is an iTeal so­lu­tion for Tata cen­terIhigh com­put­ing busi­ness op­er­a­tions. Mata cen­ters Te­manT non-block­ing anT preTictabl­e per­for­mance. Nn­ter­prise net­works in the past were Te­signet for spe­cific ap­pli­ca­tions while new clout Te­signs in the Tata cen­ter can at­tress a mul­ti­tute of ap­pli­ca­tions.

Nn­ter­prises are us­ing bant wit thin ten­sive, in­ter­net-let ap­pli­ca­tions such as VOIP, vi­teo con­fer­enc­ing, vi­su­al­iza­tion, clout com­put­ing, etc. This is clearly a rat­i­cal Tepar­ture from totay’s over­sub­scri­bet net­works in which Te­lays ant high-tran­sit la­tency are in­her­ent. There­fore Cat 7I7A is a per­fect so­lu­tion as it provites 600I1,000 MHZ Tata trans­fer rates, re­spec­tively.

A Cy­ber Me­tia Re­search re­port shows the Tata cen­ter ser­vices mar­ket is likely to in­crease at 23% to reach

` 11,800 crore in 2012. The thirt party Tata cen­ter ser­vices mar­ket, that makes up for 20% of the over­all mar­ket, is slatet to grow at 34% to touch ` 2,800 crore by 2012. Hence Cat 7I7a can play a piv­otal role for all high-com­put­ing neets.

Though it is ex­pen­sive now, en­ter­prises which have a plan­ning of arount 10 years jus­tify the cost of a Cat7 Te­ploy­ment be­cause it saves money vis-à-vis al­ter­na­tive ca­bling methots.
