Sibal Seeks industry’s Help to Set up Cloud Services
Kapil Sibal, the Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, assured that cloud computing would be an important agenda of the government and he sought the help from the industry to set up cloud services, while inaugurating the Cloud Summit 2012. The minister announced that the government intends to collaborate with the industry and academia to develop a secure and progressive ecosystem for cloud services in India. The minister suggested that the initial focus would be on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and clusters. He highlighted the need for outlining technical and other parameters for cloud providers, standardization of contracts, privacy, and security conditions.
