Iris Authentica­tion POC Study in Mysore is Fruit­ful: UIDAI

The Unique Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion Author­ity of In­dia (UIDAI) has an­nounced that it has suc­cess­fully com­pleted the proof of con­cept (PoC) Iris authentica­tion study in Mysore in Kar­nataka. The study claimed that it has achieved high ac­cu­racy lev­els, above 99.2%, by Iris authentica­tion. PoC has been con­ducted to char­ac­ter­ize and iden­tify op­ti­mal authentica­tion set ups for on­line iris authentica­tion. 215,342 Iris authentica­tion transactio­ns from 5,833 res­i­dents were stud­ied in this PoC. The PoC was con­ducted in semi ur­ban set­ting in Nan­jan­gud taluk in Mysore dis­trict of Kar­nataka be­tween May 27th and July 30th 2012.
