LBS Market to Reach $13.5 bn by 2015: Gartner
The global location based services industry is set for a big plunge in near future and is expected to generate $13.5 bn revenue by 2015, mobile advertising becoming the major driver. In a recently released report Gartner predicted that LBS can improve service delivery, customer support, workforce, marketing effectiveness and expects almost 800 mn location based service users worldwide by the end of 2012. The research firm also highlighted the convergence of location functionality with social networking, news, information, search and entertainment will generate the highest interest in next few years.
