Trai Di­rects 7 Op­er­a­tors to Dis­con­nect 5,923 Ported Mo­bile Num­bers from Loop

Tele­com Reg­u­la­tory Author­ity of In­dia has di­rected 7 tele­com op­er­a­tors— Bharti air­tel, Voda­fone, Idea Cel­lu­lar, Re­liance Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, Tata Te­le­ser­vices (TTSL), Re­liance Tele­com, and Air­cel to dis­con­nect 5,923 ported num­bers from Loop Tele­com’s net­work within 48 hours. Trai has also de­manded op­er­a­tors to pro­vide a com­pli­ance re­port in next 15 days. On July 13, 2012, Loop Tele­com com­plained to DoT that the num­bers were ported il­le­gally by these 7 op­er­a­tors. The com­pany said that 5,923 num­bers were never ac­ti­vated for sub­scriber use.
