EMC Appoints John Roese as CTO
John Roese joins EMC from Huawei, replacing Jeff Nick as the chief technology officer. In his new position, Roese will play a key role in shaping EMC’s technology strategy as the company embarks on its next phase of growth and leadership across 3 of the most transformative trends in the history of IT—cloud, bigdata, and IT. He will be reporting to Jeremy Burton, executive vice president of product operations and marketing. Jeff Nick, who has served as EMC’s chief technology officer for the last 8 years, has transitioned to a new CTO role reporting to Paul Maritz, EMC’s chief strategist, focused on big data and emerging applications initiatives.
