‘airtel and Tulip are using our platform to deliver Vaas solutions’

- Ritu Singh

What is the USP of Polycom products, how will they excel in the Indian market?

Polycom’s video collaboration solutions have set a new benchmark for telepresence globally. Our solutions are helping to bring geographically distributed teams meet face-to-face, from anywhere and anytime by enabling life-like conversations.

The company’s approach is to use open standards to orchestrate interoperability across all of the elements in a communications environment, including multiple solutions, vendors, networks, and connection protocols.

Our solutions in this space include Polycom RealPresence Experience (RPX) series that delivers the ultimate meeting experience bringing HM video, audio, and content-sharing to a cinematic video wall. Polycom Open Telepresence Experience (OTX) 100 and 300 that deliver stunning HM quality and clarity for truly life-like across-the-table conversations that improve productivity, decision making, and business continuity and Polycom Architected Telepresence Experience(ATX). Polycom ATX offers you a range of flexible options that maximize the value of different meeting spaces.

How is Polycom planning to channelize video from a system integrator or opt for a cloud based video model offered by the telecom service provider to reach the target customers?

Polycom has also detailed its strategy to enable service providers to offer cloud delivered, video-as-a-service (VaaS) solutions to its customers. Polycom’sRealPresence cloud solutions are designed specifically for service providers to equip them with the carrier grade infrastructure, endpoints, and services.

These solutions have helped video conferencing move from boardrooms to the mobile going beyond the regular clientele of large business organizations to the small and medium enterprise (SME) market, through a service provider, delivered at a monthly fee, making it an operating expense rather than a capital expense. In India, airtel and Tulip are already using this platform to deliver VaaS solutions to SMBs and enterprises through out the country.

Enterprises will continue to adopt a blend of cloud and premise based approaches to meet their UC needs, how does Polycom plan to tap that space?

Polycom solutions has helped in accelerating the penetration and adoption of video collaboration solutions among SMBs and enterprises who want either a hybrid solution of both premises based video collaboration solutions and video on demand, or a pure VaaS solution. For example, we recently equipped our service providers with a new suite of APIs and multi-tenancy support to offer cloud delivered video-as-a-service efficiently at scale and fully integrated into operations and billing systems.
