Cabinet Cuts CDMA Base Price to Half
The Union Cabinet has decided to reduce the base price of CDMA spectrum by 50%, for which the auction would take place in the month of March. “The Cabinet has taken a decision to reduce the CDMA reserve price by 50%,” telecom minister Kapil Sibal says. “Now the starting price would be 9,100 crore instead of 18,200 crore,” he adds. The auctions in all 3 spectrum bands—900 MHz, 1,800 MHz, and 800 MHz—are set to start from March 11 and would be completed by end of the same month.
