TSSC would im­part tele­com train­ing to 80,000 youths across the coun­try over the next 18 months and help in­fuse

` 80 crore gov­ern­ment support for skill de­vel­op­ment in tele­com do­main un­der the re­cently launched Na­tional Skill Cer tifi­ca­tion and Mon­e­tary ( STAR) Scheme.

In a bid to pro­mote skills de­vel­op­ment for the tele­com sec­tor, the Tele­com Sec­tor Skill Coun­cil (TSSC) in part­ner­ship with World Trade Cen­ter Ban­ga­lore, Cisco, ITI, and UTL, has or­ga­nized the Skills Con­clave on April 7 in Ban­ga­lore.

TSSC en­vis­ages to skill five mn peo­ple by the year 2022.

TSSC is an in­dus­try led body jointly pro­moted by The Cel­lu­lar Op­er­a­tors As­so­ci­a­tion of In­dia ( COAI), In­dian Cel­lu­lar As­so­ci­a­tion ( ICA), Tele­com Cen­tres of Ex­cel­lence ( TCOE) with Gov­ern­ing body Mem­bers in­clud­ing DE­ITY, IIM and NSDC.

The event was ad­dressed by Aravind Si­tara­man, Pres­i­dent, In­clu­sive Growth, Cisco, K L Dhin­gra, CMD, ITI , Dr C Rao Kasarabada, Group Chair­man, UTL, Balaram Menon, Pres­i­dent, World Trade Cen­ter Ban­ga­lore, Dr Bose K Nair, Vice- Pres­i­dent, World Trade Cen­ter, Ban­ga­lore.

TSSC signed four In­dus­try MoUs for the pro­mo­tion of Skills De­vel­op­ment.
