Videocon Telecom Showcases 77% Rise in Q4 Revenues

Fueled by aggressive customer acquisitio­n, Videocon Telecom has recorded a 77% growth in its revenues at ` 344.5 crore for the fourth quarter of 2013-14.

The telco has been among the top three players in the industry in net customer acquisitio­ns for the last eight months. The telco achieved an impressive 91% growth in its subscriber base with 7 mn customer base.

It has also been focusing on unit level and gross level profitabil­ity where the telco has been able to deliver a 25% growth in GRPM (Gross rate per min) , an impressive CAGR of 317% in data revenue. The telco has over 38% of its total subscriber base actively using data.

The telco is now aggressive­ly chasing to attain fair revenue and customer market share and become EBITDA positive in two out of its four operationa­l circles, and achieve the distinctio­n of being the fastest break-even by any telco ever.

The telco also talked about its strategic outlook for FY 2014-15 and is targeting consolidat­ed top line revenue of ` 2,500 crore in FY2014-15.

“The numbers are looking up, Y-o-Y our MoU have grown by over 81%, data business is up by an impressive 317% and now contribute­s to 7% of gross revenue with over 38% of our customers actively using data. Our bottomline has improved by 24%,” said Arvind Bali, the Director and CEO of Videocon Telecom.

“We are the youngest telco in the industry, and we aspire to become the fastest to breakeven. We have had a good 2013-14 and have been able to grow our top-line revenue by 77%,” he added.
