RJI to Hire 500 Professionals

The telecom arm of Reliance Industries, Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJI), has said that it will hire 500 telecom professionals in the coming months for its 4G services.

The company is planning to launch its services by September this year.

The company had secured pan-India broadband wireless access (BWA) Spectrum for ` 12,847.7 crore during the 2010 BWA Auctions. For this, RJI signed pacts with the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications (RCom) on intercity and intra-city optic fibre sharing, as well as telecom towers.

Under the pact, RJI will be able to utilize multiple fiber pairs across RCom’s 1,20,000 km inter-city fiber optic network to provide 4G services.

RJI started first trial of its 4G services in Delhi, Mumbai and Jamnagar. The Department of Telecom (DoT) has allocated 22 mn numbers for launch of its services. The company has secured pan-India broadband wireless access (BWA) Spectrum for ` 12,847.7 crore during the 2010 BWA Auctions.
