EMC Unveils Data Protection Products

Leading American IT company EMC has launched its data protection products, with new versions of VPLEX, RecoverPoint and Data Domain Operating System. All new data protection products will be available in the second quarter of 2014. The company also introduced a number of enhancements across its Data Protection Suite, along with a brand new Virtual Edition of VPLEX storage technology which offers continuous availability. “The company has updated several components of the Data Protection Suite—it has added new security features and Linux support for Mozy cloud backup, full integration between Avamar and Data Domain products, and snapshot management for Isilon, VNX and NetApp storage arrays,” the company said in a release. In addition, the new virtualization-aware features will help enable smooth transition to software-defined data centers, the release stated.
