Fast track semiconductor projects for upward and downward innovation.

While we have made tremendous strides in services, very little innovation happens in India. It is time for us to promote innovation and intellectual property (IP) based manufacturing. Investment in hardware engineering & semiconductor capabilities, which will create upward and downward innovation opportunities for IT Industry, should be actively encouraged. To achieve this, incentive schemes for IP generation and patent filing maybe devised to encourage industry to make investments in R&D. Besides, an electronics development fund should be set up.
