Bets on driving LTE market
Chinese company Huawei has been scoring points on account of both technology innovation and India strategy. Its Atom Router is the tiniest ever router with capabilities of plug and play, high density of Integration, and low power consumption. The router can be used at Base stations (MBB), FBB routers & Datacenter locations. This plug & play router does not require any separate power module space. It also supports rich features such as IP FPM, RFC2544, Y.1731, SDN oriented Access and Gateway Solution. Its Net Engine 5000E cluster router (NE5000E) is the industry’s first 400G core router that delivers industry-leading huge capac- ity, carrier-level availability and green design, which fully guarantees the e network robustness, service flexibility and TCO saving for service providers.
Huawei is aiming at $2 billion revenue from India by 2017. Plans include setting up a manufacturing unit for devices once volumes picks up. By 2017, Huawei is targeting about $600 million from its devices’ business in India, which includes smartphones and data dongles. This will account for 30 percent of Huawei’s revenues. The company plans to invest $300 million in its R&D centre in Bangalore, where it has already pumped in $150 million in the past three years.
